Remember the name Daniel Garcia. The up-and-coming Spanish designer’s work can be seen here in the form of a luxury sports saloon from Audi. The supercoupe adapts styling from the R8 as well as the architectural surroundings of Santiago Calatrava’s buildings. The bodywork features an ‘electronic painting’ mode that changes the vehicle color on the fly. Aside from the sleek looks and the ever-prevalent new Audi grille, the wheels are absolutely stunning. We can’t tell whether they are LED-accented, but their contrast to the rest of the car (regardless of what color it may be at the time) is just awesome.

We are wondering why it is that car manufacturers are tripping over each other inventing boring and redundant “super modern” and “high design” cars, when the end result is a sea of lookalikes. One can no longer recognize a “premium” make from a lower-end car, certainly not by distinctive and recognizable design features. Our hopes are up with the carbon fiber-bodied “Bella Figura” Bugnotti. It is Delahaye USA’s tribute to Ettore Bugatti’s son, Jean, and it was inspired by the 1937 classic Type 57S. This retro beauty will debut at the Retro Auto at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Aug. 13-15 in Monterey, CA.

The title of fastest Ferrari is not one to be taken lightly. It’s comparable to hottest Victoria Secret model ever. Or drunkest, roudiest frat boy. We’re talking the best at what best does. And according to Ferrari, the new 599 GTO, which will be introduced to the world at the 2010 Beijing Motor Show, is the fastest Ferrari street car ever. That’s a very fitting way to revive the GTO legacy.
That headlining speed comes courtesy of a 6.0-liter V12 engine that hurls 661 horses and 457 lb-ft onto very willing tires. The engine, along with much of the car’s look, was derived from the 599XX.
As any car aficionado knows, power is one component of performance and weight is the other. Ferrari used composite materials and “components manufactured with technologies more akin to racing specifications” to keep the dry weight of the GTO down to about 3,296 lbs.
So how fast does the world’s fastest road-based Ferrari go? The top speed is listed at over 208 mph and the 0 to 62 mph time is just 3.35 seconds.
Ferrari will produce just 599 of the limited edition 599 GTO and the price tag will be close to a weighty $500K. [via egmCarTech]

Confession: this story is primarily just an excuse to get pictures of the Hennessy Venom GT up at the top of our website again. It’s been a couple of days, and we really like looking at it. On to the story…
It’s pretty logical to think that a car as over-the-top as the $600,000 Hennessy Venom GT would be popular in certain Middle Eastern enclaves, and Hennessy has contracted with Alfred DiMora to do the dirty work on distribution in the Middle East and India. Tricked-out gold Venom anyone?

There’s only one question that comes to mind when you see a car that looks like that: How fast can it go? Well, there’s fast and then there’s Warp Speed and in Koenigsegg’s case you’re looking at it a ground based USS Enterprise. The 4.7 liter V8 takes the car from to 0-62 in 3.1 seconds, 124 mph in 8.9 and when you’re ready to go intergalactic the car will hit an estimated 245 mph.

A greatest of working relationship between Mercedes Benz and McLaren will come to an end after about 5 years. These two companies combined its expertise to produce the SLR (Sport/Light/Racing) models totaling in two coupes, two roadsters and the last of the release Stirling Moss version. Out of the 2000 SLRs produced, only 75 will be titled Stirling Moss making the already hard to obtain model more exclusive.
The Stirling Moss edition puts out 478kw (650hp) and speeds up from zero to one hundred in 3.5 seconds reaching up to a top speed of 350km/h. Even though this will be the last time SLR will be manufactured it is sure that fans of SLR will gather as SLR Club where members get together for regular meets to enjoy their vehicles how it should be

Bentley has dropped the details on its newest creation ahead of its unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show, and claims that it’s produced the world’s fastest four-seat convertible and the quickest drop-top Bentley in the automaker’s history.

The raging torrent of pre-Geneva Motor Show leaks is officially in full effect today as a series of images showing off Bertone’s new Alfa Romeo Pandion Concept have hit the Internet (thanks Unica-Strada!). First of all, what’s a Pandion? That would be a type genus of the Pandionidae, better known as an osprey or as a fish hawk. Moving on, then
Fabio Ferrante is a young designer who began his work on the V Concept in September of last year. A product of the Polytechnic Institute of Torino and the Fiat Design research center, Fabio envisioned a car he would design for his girlfriend whose name started with the letter V. What came about for his creation is a 4 seater coupé intended for comfort, luxury and the pleasure of driving without forgetting the obvious sportiness typical of the muscle cars of the end of the 60s. Specifically, his designs pay homage to the Chevorlet Impala, which he thought he could reinterpret without actually “re-designing” or “retro-designing” the car. What he wanted to do was his own complete new version with elements of the Impala.
At a glance, one will notice the obvious “V” feature of the car with the shape of the side taking cues from the Impala. Another faithful recapturing from the old model was the rear window, which falls harmoniously on the tail end of the car and almost entirely covers it. In capping of the design, Ferrante wanted to make sure there would be a spacious surface. He wanted the experiences of driving the “V” to not just be about the driver, but also for the passenger.
